The Hiram College Library is following current best practices for library use including additional cleaning, providing socially distant study spaces, and quarantining returned materials. If you have any questions about library procedures, please contact the Library Director, Janet Vogel.

The Media Center is currently open by appointment only.
Tech and Trek is temporarily in the Dray Computer Center.
To Enter the Library Building:
All areas of the first floor are closed until construction is complete. Thank you for your cooperation.
To Leave the Library Building:
*Note: Between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m., the annex door will be unlocked. If you need assistance opening the door or after hours, please call 330-569-5489 and a library staff member will assist you.
If you are not a Hiram College student, staff, or faculty member and you need access to the library building, we ask that you contact us to make an appointment so that we can safely admit you to the building at a time when students are not entering/exiting for classes.
You may also schedule curbside pickup of any library materials. Email us (email@example.com) and provide the title and call number of your item(s) as well as when you would like to pick them up. Please allow 1 business day for processing and wait to be notified via email that your item is available before coming to campus.
The Library Services desk is currently located on the Lower Level of the library building. Please wear your mask and follow posted guidelines for social distancing when waiting to check out.

eBooks for Contactless Checkout:
The Hiram College Library offers many eBooks for contactless checkout in addition to electronic journals and databases. Use OneSource to search most of our print and digital resources at once. OhioLINK also offers many eBook lending options as well as an Electronic Journal Center. Most eBooks are available for multiple users at the same time, so you do not have to wait to use them. If you have any questions about eBooks, please ask a librarian.
Items may be returned to the drop box inside the front doors of the Library, to the drop box outside the Media Center on the Lower Level, or at the Library Services desk on the Lower Level (inside the Media Center).
The Hiram College Library is following current library best practices and quarantining all materials for 3 days. Items will not be checked in until 3 days after you return them. However, all items will be backdated at check in to the date you returned it and you will not be fined for the extra time the items spent in quarantine. You can renew any library materials online. No need to come in!

Study rooms are limited to 1 user at a time due to social distancing.
Study rooms will be cleaned after each use.
Please only use a room with a sign hanging on the door. The sign indicates that the room has been cleaned.
A mask must be worn in the room and in the library at all times.
Please return the room sign to the Library Services desk on the lower level before leaving the library so that our staff can clean the room.

Are you a first year or transfer student? Before you check out books, we need to update your library account with the barcode on the back of your student ID.
Please visit the Library Services desk on the lower level any time with your student ID and ask to have your barcode added to your account. You can then check out physical items and OhioLINK eBooks.
If you are unable to access the library building, please email email@example.com with your name, phone number, Hiram Student ID number (on the front of your ID), and the number on the barcode on the back of your ID. We will update your account within 1 business day.

For Research Help:
Email firstname.lastname@example.org to set up an appointment to meet with a librarian. Include your course name, what information you are hoping to learn, and when your assignment is due. The email address is typically checked M-F 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. You may also call the library at 330-569-5489 and ask for a librarian. You may also ask whether a librarian is available when you visit the Library Services desk in the Library's lower level, and we will meet with you if we can!
